Loloy Rendon & Eleanor Hayco

CRISALDO RENDON aka Loloi

loloy

Kuya Loloi, as he is endearingly known in the DanceSport world, is looked up on by DanceSport Team Cebu City members as their mentor. His dreams of professionalizing DanceSport in this city and institutionalizing the sport into the powerhouse that it is today, triggered the rise of DTCC.He holds unwavering passion and dedication, molding athletes into national and international gold medalists and implementing the program of developing a pool of volunteer teachers who share their talents selflessly to anyone willing to learn. These volunteers teach DanceSport to village kids in Cebu City’s barangays, even in the remotest mountain villages, in the Barangay DanceSport Program – a brainchild of Mayor Tommy Osmeña. This brings DanceSport down to the grassroots and to date, the volunteer

teachers have trained close to 3,000 grassroot enthusiasts, many of whom are as young as six years old.The program hopes DanceSport will be an alternative activity to lure kids away from drugs and petty crimes and to be a source of strength and be a character-builder for the youth. Through his untiring efforts, selfless sacrifices as head coach and team captain of DanceSport Team Cebu City, Loloi Rendon has successfully achieved his dreams and continues to be the avante guard of DanceSport in Cebu with the aim of making Cebu City the DanceSport Capital of Asia.
